Funding applications finalised ahead of deadline
MAC Construction Consultant’s specialist education arm has successfully completed Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) applications on behalf of more than 40 academies nationally, ahead of the December 2019 deadline.
Available to academies, sixth-form colleges and non-diocesan VA schools looking to improve the condition of their facilities by making sure their buildings are safe and in good working order, the CIF is made available from the Government on an annual basis.
Primarily used to address any health and safety, and compliance issues, the funds can also be utilised to support expansion projects at schools which are rated as ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, and which can demonstrate need to accommodate more pupils.
MAC Construction Consultants were instructed by clients from across the country to help respond to new criteria which will favour bids from applications with strong governance and good financial management.
The firm have previously secured over £50m of capital funding for academies through this process, assisting with a range of roofing, window, heating, fire safety and electrical replacement projects and addressing space constraint issues through extension and new build projects.
Funding allocations will be announced in spring 2020.
Jonathan Jones, Associate Director at MAC Construction Consultants commented: “It has been a very busy period for us as we prepared for the deadline for this year’s funding ensuring all applications were finished to a high standard.
“I hope all of our clients are successful, and I would like to thank the MAC team for their hard work throughout the submission process.”
