Throughout 2021 the MAC team has had the privilege of delivering building consultancy services on three residential properties in Lincolnshire, as part of South Holland District Council’s Next Steps Accommodation Programme.
This important initiative provides accommodation for homeless people and is working towards ending rough sleeping in the area.
As part of the project the premises were stripped back to base level, with partitions and doors installed to create rooms. New kitchen and bathroom facilities, new floors, wall and ceiling finishes were also added, as well as new fire alarm systems, new electrical and plumbing systems.
The MAC team oversaw the works on behalf of the Council; including certifying payments to the Contractor, snagging the final works and then issuing completion certification to ensure the project complied with the Contract and with Homes England’s requirements for the grant funding.
Commenting on the works MAC Director, Barry Smith, said: “We were delighted to be able to work on behalf of South Holland District Council to deliver on three premises as part of the Next Steps Accommodation Programme.
“Projects such as this are incredibly important, as the properties on completion provide a safe space for people experiencing homelessness in the local area.”
