In Autumn 2020, MAC was appointed on a Travis Perkins new build scheme in Bournemouth.
The new build includes 15,000 sq ft of warehouse space with a mezzanine level and 94,000 sq ft of external slabs.
Programme delays were incurred at the pre-contract stage as a result of planning delays and Covid-19.
The scheme was developed on a brownfield site adjacent to a railway line and residential properties, requiring good communication, phasing of the works, BAPA, and constant dialogue with Network Rail.
The development of the brownfield site required the removal of contamination, needles and asbestos.
MAC provided Employers Agent (project management and cost management) services on the scheme, working with Mildren Construction as the main contractor.
The project was completed in 34 weeks, with locals reportedly delighted to see the disused area transformed.
